EXTREME EASTERN RING OF PEAKS
CENTRAL AND EASTERN MASSIFS

On our first day of trekking, we will depart from the beautiful mountain village of Sotres (1,050m), in Asturias. We will descend to the wintering grounds of Sotres, from here, make a small ascent to the Pandébano hill, where we will be able to see Picu Urriellu for the first time. We will pass through the La Terenosa shelter, where we will rest and replenish our food and water. From La Terenosa we will take the popular route up to the largest refuge in the Picos de Europa, the Urriellu refuge (1,960m), located at the base of the most emblematic summit of the Picos de Europa National Park. Picu Urriellu (Naranjo de Bulnes), and at its most spectacular, its impressive west face, over 500 meters high, a true benchmark for Spanish mountaineering. An unforgettable place, both for its beauty and its symbolism. From Vega de Urriellu, we climb to Corona del Raso and Collada Arenera to descend to the most remote and uncivilized refuge in Spain, the Cabrones Refuge, located in an exceptional Jou, surrounded by high peaks, including Picu Cabrones, and very close to Collada del Agua, from where the sunset is unparalleled. A perfect place to spend our first night after a well-deserved dinner.

Spectacular day, in which we will enter into the grandeur and the limestone spectacle of the Massif Central and that will take us to the Collado Jermoso shelter (2,046 m). We will cross Jous, limestone hills and seas, among breathtaking landscapes, enjoying the contrast of the green tones of the Cantabrian Mountains to the south and rarely descending below 2,000 meters in altitude. We will pass through the unique Veronica Cabin Shelter, the highest in the Picos de Europa, to head to Tiro Casares and from here to the Colladinas, from where we will descend to the Collado Jermoso refuge, located in one of the most spectacular and beautiful places in the entire National Park. Located on the edge of a cliff and surrounded by the steep peaks of the Llambrión group, in front of the spectacular Friero Tower, and with magnificent views of the Valdeón Valley and the Cornión Massif, with Holy Rock Despite the hard day, everyone will feel satisfied staying in such a place, especially after enjoying its spectacular sunset.

We continue in the Massif Central, and today we're heading to the divide between the two massifs. Today we have a short day to enjoy the scenery and recover a little from the previous two days. Although short, today's route will be spectacular. We'll return along the path of the colladinas that took us to Collado Jermoso, but today we'll take the Liordes path to head to the Colladina de las Nieves, from where we can make the La Padiorna Peak if time permits. From the Snowy hill we will descend by the San Luis Canal towards the Hoyos de Lloroza and from there we will go to the upper station of the cable car of Source Give, where we can recharge our batteries while admiring the spectacular scenery from the viewpoint. From the cable car, we'll walk towards the Vuelta, to admire the breathtaking karst landscape of the Massif Central, completely different from the one we left behind, with the green of the Cantabrian Mountains. From La Vueltona, a small descent to the foot of the impressive east face of Old Rock and seeing the Eastern Massif, which we will go to tomorrow, will leave us at the Hotel Áliva, where we will spend our third night.

Today we change massif to enter the Eastern MassifWe begin the route descending through the Duje Valley, a unique glacial landscape with beautiful views of the two massifs. Once we reach the sheepfold of the Vegas del Toro, we will take the detour towards the Jidiellu Canal, our demanding gateway with a 1,000-meter vertical drop to the Eastern Massif. Climbing the Jidiellu Canal is an experience to be enjoyed, turning your head from time to time and seeing the central massif appear in all its splendor. Once you reach the Valdominguero Pass, we will be able to observe the nature of the Ándara Massif, its mining pass with its countless mine entrances and its modest but beautiful peaks. We only have to descend to the Casetón de Ándar sheltera, historic mining shed, where we will spend our last night, after enjoying a well-deserved dinner and a beautiful sunset.

On our last day, we only have to descend to Sotres, the starting and ending point of our beautiful adventure, after a first section of track and a second section of mid-mountain terrain where we will once again see the Massif Central, passing through a small beech forest and a nice viewpoint before reaching the town
